HCPEC is dedicated to preserving a place for horses in our community. Orange County once flourished with equine activity however; the development of open land has taken over trails and neighboring equestrian centers. HCPEC has founded a Community Outreach Committee in order to promote community awareness of equine affairs. We need your help. If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a member, please contact us at 714.848.6565 or at allison@hcpec.com Equestrian Trails, Inc. (ETI) was formed in 1944 as a California non-profit organization dedicated to the support of equine legislation and interests, good horsemanship and the acquisition and preservation of multi-use trails and open space. The organization is divided into regional divisions known as Corrals. At this time, there are approximately 40 Corrals throughout California. Corral 100 has 30 members and most of us stable our horses at the HCPEC. We believe that horses play a valuable role in our community and that belief is frequently reinforced by the residents. Hikers, joggers, bikers and people walking in the park or on the trails with their children often express interest in the horses. Those of us who ride the trails are always happy to share our love for horses and provide petting opportunities – for the parents and the kids! “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” The Corral 100 Board coordinates horsemanship activities for members and non-members - trail clinics, organized trail rides, trail rider awards, trail trials, etc. Detailed information about activities is published monthly in the HCPEC newsletter, Stable Times. Board members at HCPEC are easily identified by the ETI Corral 100 signs on their stalls. Feel free to stop and talk with us - we welcome inquiries and new members. |
