About the owner
Mary Behrens has parlayed her lifelong love of horses into a prominent position within the Orange County business community and the West Coast equestrian scene. With her father, Bill Harris, as partner, Mary became owner of the Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center in 1986. Since then, she has developed the facility into one of Southern California’s finest environments for riding and enjoying horses.

As urban development encroaches upon surrounding stables, Mary has made it her mission to keep horses accessible to the public. She represents horsemens’ concerns at local government meetings, backs several efforts to preserve open space for multi-use trials, and is a strong supporter of the Therapeutic Riding School of HB, located at HCPEC. Mary is a member of the Orange County Regional Recreational Trails Advisory Committee, and board member for the Boy’s and Girls Club of Huntington Valley.

In her spare time, Mary has become a successful competitor in the amateur jumper division and she recently took up the Western Sport of Cutting.
